The electronic invoice: for the Cafés, Hotels and Restaurants sector

1.Key dates

  • 1st September 2026: Youwill receive electronic invoices from your suppliers.
  • 1st September 2027: Youwill issue your electronic invoices and your till data will be automatically transmitted to the administration.


2.What changes in practice

  • Professional clients→ Electronic invoices via your approved platform.
  • Private clients→ Your sales are automatically transmitted via your till.
  • Accommodation→ Same logic: professionals = electronic invoices, individuals = self-declaration.
  • Before: Paper, errors, time loss.
  • After: Automation, zero paper, time saving, real-time tracking.


3. What you need to do right now(quick checklist)

  1. Check your billing system (compliant till/software, update to 'electronic invoice').
  2. Choose your approved platform (PA) → compareprices, simplicity, support.
  3. Train your team (2 hours of training, simple memo displayed near the tills).
  4. Test before summer 2026 (test invoices + customer information).


4.Points of attention for cafés, hotels and restaurants

  • A customer pays with their personal card but requests an invoice in the name of their business → invoice submitted on the platform.
  • Meals > €150 excluding VAT → invoice required.
  • Multiple tills? → They must all be compatible.
